It was a rainy, rainy day in Central Florida today and I was wondering what I was going to do with three boys ages 10, 10 & 12 and an 8 year old girl. Having two extra kiddos our options were a little limited price wise. While coming up with ideas we learned about:
But the one that stood out was a FREE DISNEY HIDDEN MICKEY SCAVENGER HUNT!!! Did I mention FREE? Not sure what a Hidden Mickey is? Basically, it’s defined as the front or side profile of Mickey Mouse (sometimes just his head; sometimes all of him) that has been camouflaged into something. You can find them in walls, rock formations, carpets, woodwork, murals and artwork, fabric, and more. Some even say that the aerial view of Disney’s Hollywood Studios forms a giant Hidden Mickey! Here’s how our day went:
First you need to go through the Magic Kingdom entrance and head towards Ft. Wilderness. Once at the Ft. Wilderness gate you will need to show them a photo id and let them know you are there to do the “Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunt”. Once inside go to the front desk and tell them the same, they will give you two sheets and you will be on your way!
Some of them were easy and some of them were mind boggling. We even picked up a few families along the way that did it with us. This was nice because the kids paired up and let this momma’s brain take a rest. I would say it was a good 2 hour adventure and at the end we were surprised to find out there was a REALLY cool prize! I don’t want to spoil it for you so I will leave you with this…. If you’re in the Orlando area this summer, be sure to visit Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
**Please note that this is open to the public, you do NOT have to be a guest at the resort to participate in this FUN & FREE adventure!
Have you been to Disney and seen any “hidden Mickey’s?”
